Service Agreement

California’s automatic-renewal rules require recurring terms, charges, and cancellation methods to be presented clearly before the customer agrees. They also require affirmative consent, a retainable acknowledgment, accessible cancellation methods, and advance notice of certain price changes.

This document is designed for recurring pool maintenance and routine service, with selectable billing and cancellation terms. Larger repairs, installations, remodeling, or other qualifying home-improvement work should use a separate written proposal or contract containing the required California notices and disclosures.

NOTE: This document should be reviewed by a California attorney, especially the provisions covering late charges, liability, indemnification, fixed terms, early-cancellation charges, and electronic acceptance.

The agreement should also be used only for routine maintenance unless counsel confirms otherwise. California requires a compliant written home-improvement contract for qualifying projects, and changes to covered work generally need written change orders. CSLB also distinguishes regular maintenance from repair, installation, and home-improvement work.

As of July 2026, California CSLB guidance says swimming-pool construction or repair work costing $1,000 or more must be performed by an appropriately licensed contractor.
